Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) are printed onto VIN plates and VIN labels using fibre laser technology, in addition to direct engraving onto the vehicle. Pryor manufactures VIN Label Laser Marking Machines for printing unique vehicle information and market region specific data, onto metallic plates and tamper proof acrylic labels. Pryor software, operated via a touchscreen HMI, manages vehicle identification records in the manufacturers database, for full supply chain traceability. Each Pryor VIN Label Laser Marking Machine is tailored to a customer’s specific requirements, ensuring installation is seamless and operation fast, efficient and effective. The VIN Label Laser Marking Machine comprises a modular, floor-standing workstation, with integrated laser controller. The workstation is a Class 1 light safe enclosure which fully shields the operator from harmful light radiation. The label feed system and pneumatic cutting disc system are designed to be simple to use and easy to maintain. Once cut, the label ejection system deposits the laser printed label into a collection tray, ready to be applied to the vehicle. Sensors detect when the roll is empty and requires changing to prevent unwanted laser marking of the feed system bed. The fume extraction system ensures direct removal of dust and debris across the entire width of the label marking area. Pryor’s traceability software is supplied pre-installed within the units PC, containing marking layouts and all features required to ensure full product traceability. A handheld scanner is mounted on the enclosure frame for quick and easy scanning of vehicle documentation prior to each marking process.
