Outdoor noise monitoring kit The Outdoor Noise Monitoring Kit has been specially designed to quickly convert selected Pulsar Instruments' sound level meters into outdoor environmental noise monitors or longer-term noise monitoring meters. Kits include a rugged, weatherproof carrying case, long-lasting battery, and microphone assembly suitable for outdoor noise monitoring applications. Choose from: the light-weight option (WK1) for short-term outside noise monitoring or, the heavy-duty option (WK2) for longer-term noise monitoring. Sound Level Meter Outdoor Kit – Weather protection for your sound level meter Pulsar Instruments Plc offers the possibility of converting your portable instruments into a semi-permanent short or long term outdoor noise monitor using a specially designed outdoor kit. Environmental noise monitoring usually takes place outdoors and therefore the sound meter is subject to various weather conditions. Rain or even heavy fog can make it impractical to use a normal sound level meter outdoors for long periods of time, as the humidity can damage the microphone capsule and, in extreme conditions, the instrument itself . Some applications require you to measure for a few hours, half a day, or overnight to get adequate data to monitor a noise problem, while other applications require longer term measurements on a semi-permanent basis. Pulsar offers both short-term and long-term monitoring options with our “short-term” WK1 and “long-term” WK2 kits.
