This support uses the same locking principle as T-Lock® and maintains the exact support point position after hydraulic disconnection. It is completely insensitive to vibrations.
These supports use the principle of elasticity of materials.
Their operation comprises four phases:
1) Support piston release:
PC = 300 bar
2) Contact with workpiece:
Simultaneous pressure PA + PB = elastic deformation of the workpiece
3) Removal of pressure:
PA + PB = 0
The workpiece then pushes the rod due to elasticity.
The residual support force is provided by seal friction
4) Piston lock PC = 0:
The position is maintained without pressure.
