The MTP line is series of multifunctional power transmission and tribological testing devices, which enable comprehensive testing and characterization of polymer and composite materials in gearing and other frictional contact applications. The device enables lifetime testing of spur and helical gears at actively controlled load conditions and sample (or ambient) temperatures.
Along with gear tests, an additional module is available to enable tribological twin-disc tests that provide information regarding the tested material pair's frictional and wear properties.
Key features and specifications:
- Lifetime gear tests for plastic and composite gears
- Spur and helical gear in line with relevant standards and guidelines
- Temperature-dependent S-N curve (root/contact fatigue) and wear characterization
- Adaptable center distance for variable gear sample sizes
- Dry running, grease or oil lubricated conditions
- Testing using custom load spectrum signals
- Gear efficiency testing
- Active sample temperature control
- Twin-disc tribological testing module available for coefficient-of-friction and wear
characterization
- Active control of slide-to-roll ratio
- DAQ + control software with intuitive UI included
