Description

Railway DC-DC converters from RECOM sister company PCS range from 3W to 240W with a selection of single, dual and triple DC output voltages. Input voltage ranges include nominal 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V and 110Vdc with some variants covering multiple nominals such as the SD86-IRX model with its 43-154Vdc input. Mechanical formats include PCB mount, chassis and rack-mount depending on variant. Generally, isolation is provided to international standards but non-isolated parts are also available. For example, part SD36-IRX rated at 96W in a miniature case size of 160 x 100 x 30mm. All parts include over-current, over-voltage and short circuit protection and are ruggedized to suit harsh railway applications. Input EMI filtering is included along with inrush current limiting. Cooling is by natural convection and parts are typically rated for full power at 85°C. These DC/DC converters can be used in railway control displays, signalling devices, radio equipment, battery chargers and braking systems as well as in track-side equipment where reliability is paramount. Railway converters from RECOM can be used to enable system compliance with standards RIA12, EN50155 with features such as input reverse polarity protection and immunity to surges and transients. Custom variants are available on request – contact RECOM with your requirements.
