In the case of flange transition pieces to accessories with welding stub solutions from DN/OD 160 mm, large cross-section changes occur due to the flange joint dimensions and the plastic pipe dimensioning. Particularly for the installation of weld stubs, actuation problems can arise as a result of the displacement. The weld stub also tends to fail under full pressure.
With the special flange connection, Reinert-Ritz can solve these problems. This enables the pressure class-compatible connection of plastic pipes to accessories, with the same nominal size. Here the stub is designed as a fixed flange and fitted with a backing flange. This allows the accessory to be selected according to the nominal size of the pipe – one step fewer than in the case of a conventional loose flange connection, reducing the project costs and the risk of deposits.
The steel backing flange has a plastic coating that offers long-lasting protection against corrosion.
The fittings to be offered must be delivered as a set consisting of a welding stub and a backing flange adapted to the dimension.
The welding stubs must be manufactured from material in compliance with the PE100+ Association and according to DIN EN 12201 and DIN EN 1555 with respect to dimensions, tolerances and quality requirements.
The backing flanges must be manufactured from steel with a plastic coating in accordance with DIN EN 10310.
Proof must be provided that they were manufactured on the basis of a quality assurance system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
For all fittings a certificate in accordance with DIN EN 10204 must be submitted by the manufacturer.
