In applications with a differential pressure 5% higher than the maximum standard pressure range, differential pressure measurement with two absolute pressure sensors offers greater advantages over conventional methods of differential pressure measurement.
The PD39X series Differential Pressure Transmitters do not measure the differential pressure directly but use two absolute pressure sensors to detect the measurement indirectly.
Each side of the pressure has two connection ports allowing the PD39X to be used easily in pressure lines. In this way it is also possible to measure the differential pressure exactly if the ratio standard pressure range/differential pressure is high.
All reproducible pressure sensor errors (i.e. non-linearity and temperature dependencies) are completely eliminated thanks to the mathematical error compensation.
The sensor signals are measured with a 16-bit A/D converter making it possible to measure individual standard pressure ranges with an accuracy of 0.05%FS over the entire pressure and temperature range.
The transmitters are equipped with a two-wire RS485 semi-duplex interface, compatible with the bus system that takes the "MODBUS RTU" as a model.
RIELS offers interface converters to RS232 or USB to be used for this purpose.
The READ30/PROG30 program and protocol are available free of charge.
The interface offers the following functions:
Reading of the pressure and temperature values for both sensors allowing to read not only the differential pressure but also the two standard pressure ranges
Calibration of null points and amplification
Graduation of the analog output with respect to different pressure ranges or different units of measure
