The QA meter utilizes the rotation of an axial turbine to quantify the flow of gas passing through the pipeline; the number of rotations of the wheel is proportional to the gas volume. This volume is recorded by a mechanical totalizer. Thanks to self-lubricating bearings, the meter operates without the need for regular maintenance.
Quantometers are used to measure gas consumption in boilers, water heaters, ovens, and other large consumers within industrial or commercial facilities. With precise consumption data, it is possible to more accurately control production and heating processes, significantly improving overall energy efficiency. Additionally, data from the meters is used for internal cost allocation among different cost centers.
To ensure the proper functioning of the meter and achieve performance as per the technical specifications, it is recommended to ensure a straight section of the pipeline upstream and downstream of the instrument, respectively, of 3 and 2 times the nominal diameter. If particles, such as rust, are expected in the gas flow, it is necessary to install a filter upstream of the meter to ensure the long-term durability of the device. The meters can be installed both horizontally and vertically.
Furthermore, the QA meters are equipped with a 7-digit mechanical register for direct measurement display on the line and two pulse lances: one in low frequency for total volume counting and one in high frequency that can be used to calculate the instantaneous flow rate.
