The series of FMG rotary gas meters has been designed to meet the highest measurement demands. These meters are approved according to the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID 2014/32/EU) and fully comply with EN12480:2002, EN12480:2015, and OIML R137 1&2 (2014) standards. Their compact and interchangeable aluminum cartridge allows for local repair and on-site cleaning. The robust design of the casing and cartridge makes the meter less sensitive to installation stresses caused by pipe connections. A significant amount of pipe or flange misalignment can be tolerated by the meter without affecting performance.
The aluminum casing of the FMR is designed for operating pressures up to 20 bar, with a safety factor of 4. The piston geometry and the positioning of bearings and shafts make the meter less sensitive to overload and pressure shocks. The aluminum casing of the totalizer and the LF contact protection make measurement tampering difficult, even with powerful neodymium magnets. Various low and high-frequency outputs are available for flow calculation or control.
The FMR rotary meter series is suitable for measuring non-corrosive gases such as natural gas, propane, butane, air, and hydrogen. Typical applications include gas distribution in low and medium-pressure networks. All plugs, sensors, and oil-level glasses can be sealed (with wire), rendering the meter invulnerable to manipulation. For instance, if the oil compartment were accessible, metrological performance could be altered (by increasing or decreasing mechanical friction) by changing oil properties. In addition to mechanical precautions, the display can be equipped with a smart encoder,
