The FMR-40 meters consist of an aluminum cartridge inserted into an aluminum body. The cartridge can be removed and inserted while keeping the body installed, allowing for local repairs such as main bearing replacement and on-site cleaning. Rotary meters are designed with an optimized body construction, leveraging the special design and robustness of the aluminum construction to accommodate higher pressures. This development, tailored for standard bodies, obviates the need for a steel body for pressures up to 40 bar.
The aluminum bodies undergo a special treatment to enhance strength while maintaining their lightweight nature. FMG-40 rotary gas meters feature a rotating disc to directly distribute oil to timing gears. The mechanism prevents oil loss at high loads or pressure variations, ensuring adequate lubrication at low flows. Operating between 40% and 120% of maximum flow, the lubrication system eliminates critical installation sizing. The provided oil is suitable for 10 years of operation under normal conditions.
The index can be equipped with an intelligent encoder that transmits total volume at 400-millisecond intervals using the standard NAMUR serial data format, and it can be tailored for specific applications upon request. Powered by a guaranteed 12-year AA battery, the encoder includes a special Hall sensor to detect and log external magnet interferences. Multiple programmable inputs/outputs are available for advanced anti-fraud functions.
FMG-40 rotary meters can optionally feature two integrated thermowells, useful for connecting a volume corrector to record gas volumes under standard conditions.
