The FMG-HP series of rotary gas quantometers is designed to meet the highest requirements for reliable and accurate measurement of gas flow under high pressure conditions. These quantometers are fully compliant with EN12480:2002, EN12480:2015 and OIML R137 1&2 (2014). The actual body of the gauge is made of aluminum and is held in place by a steel casing. This casing absorbs mechanical stresses due to high pressures and allows weight to be limited compared to an all-steel gauge. Since the actual gauge body is not affected by flange or piping stresses, the spaces between the pistons and the body are optimized managing to maintain the metrological performance of standard FMG quantometers. Unlike other measuring devices such as turbine quantometers and ultrasonic meters, a rotary meter can be installed near regulators without the need for extended straight sections or specially prepared inlet sections. The FMR-HP series can be equipped with a spring-loaded bypass valve. If a meter becomes blocked, the pressure difference at the bypass valve will increase and the valve will open allowing gas to flow through. This safety feature ensures a constant supply of gas and is suitable for critical installations where gas flow cannot be interrupted. The opening of the bypass can be monitored by measuring the pressure difference at the meter. A compact, interchangeable aluminum cartridge allows on-site repair and cleaning. A pre-calibrated cartridge can be replaced without affecting accuracy. A relatively small, lightweight cover is simply removed to access the cartridge.
