The picoELCOR-2 represents a complete all-in-one gas metering solution with advanced features that make it ideal for use in Atex Zone 1 hazardous areas. This intelligent diaphragm gas meter integrates an electronic index, volume conversion, datalogger and GPRS or LTE modem within the mechanical body of the diaphragm gas meter. Its solid mechanical design, proven technology, and use of the latest low-power microprocessor with high processing power ensure smooth operation and enable future software and hardware extensions. The principle of volume measurement is based on the measurement of gas flow through mechanical units. Each unit has four measuring chambers, separated by synthetic diaphragms. Mechanical movement is transferred through gears to a crankshaft that moves the valves. The rotating movement is punctuated by a tamper-resistant optical element. This optical element provides maximum protection against external magnetic fields, helping to eliminate counter tampering. The base volume is calculated based on the precise measurement of pressure, temperature and using a conversion formula. The pressure and temperature transducer is built into the body of the gas meter. The electronic index with LCD display, controlled by a two-button keypad (accessible after opening the front cover), provides information on the measured volume and offers a friendly user interface for reading data.
