R-8AI-8DIDO is a versatile digital module with dual 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports and a front-facing Micro USB port for programming. It is specifically designed for applications that require flexible wiring, limited installation space, and high-density I/O with integrated Ethernet networking. The R-8AI-8DIDO module features 8 analog inputs and 8 individually configurable digital channels that can be used as either digital inputs or outputs. It is equipped with isolation between inputs, outputs, and other low-voltage circuits up to 1,500 Vac. Configuration can be done through dedicated software and a web server with HTML5 support. The module allows for the identification and configuration of IP address, MAC address, and firmware version using the Seneca Discovery Device (SDD) tool on the LAN network. It supports both Modbus TCP-IP and RS485 communication protocols with Modbus RTU. The R-8AI-8DIDO module can be connected in Ethernet daisy chain mode with fault bypass to ensure Ethernet connectivity even if one module in the chain fails. It offers advanced features such as I/O mirroring, where digital signals can be duplicated on one or more modules in Peer to Peer mode, and Modbus Passthrough, which allows the module to redirect Modbus TCP-IP requests to RS485, effectively acting as a gateway.
