Roland Electronic presents I100-S-WI double sheet detector. It is an addition to the economical R100 series. It can perform single-sided measurement of tinplate and aluminum. This makes it ideal for detection of double ends in metal packaging applications. Additionally, it can also measure nonmagnetic stainless steel with sheet thickness of up to 3 mm.
I100-S-WI comprises of a sensor, cable and the control unit. Typically, the sensor is kept onto the sheet for measurement needs. The system features a M42 thread. This allows fixing into Roland vacuum cups. For sheet feeding applications, the sensor is flush mounted or recessed into sheet feed tables. The sensor and material should not have an air gap of more than 2 mm, which should remain constant. The measurement is done on the basis of the induction principle. Here the electromagnetic field is dampened by one sheet ahead of the sensor.
