The level transducers of the PCS III series are rugged, accurate, without mechanical wear between the measuring probe and the float, they are resistant to shock and vibrations and are equipped with protection against hostile environments.
They are absolute measure transducers – of a magnetostrictive type – with measuring ranges from 100 to 3,000 mm, which measure the position of the magnetic float compared to the probe in a fluid digitally and continuously with no friction or wear between the parts. The measuring probe, that is 10 mm in diameter, is made of AISI316L stainless steel with TIG welding, in order to make it possible to be used in the most severe operating conditions, in pharmaceutical, food or chemical applications, with working pressures in the area of 350 bar and peaks up to 700 bar.
There is a dead zone on the measuring probe near the tip of 55 mm – for measurement purposes – as per the design. Normally this area is comprised within the float (AFC models 2S, 4S, 6S, 10S or 12S), and should be taken into account when using the AFC-8S float. It is possible upon request to provide the measuring probe of the transducer with a restraint system of the float that avoids removal. This can be an accessory that is added to the outside of the standard probe (height 9 mm) or can be integrated into the tip of the measuring probe, increasing its length by 10 mm.
