The protective atmosphere generators
Protective atmospheres are ordinary in heat treatment furnaces. The composition of protective gases varies, depending on materials to be treated and in particular on their affinity with oxygen.
Endothermic gas generators
Carbon steels preferably use endothermic atmospheres. The less expensive exogas is used in case of wires, strips, and sheets with low carbon content.
Exogas generators
Exogas is obtained by the partial combustion of hydrocarbons.
Ammonia cracker
Cracked ammonia has almost the same applications as pure hydrogen, but it is less expensive and it is used with poor carbon steel and stainless parts.
Cracked ammonia dryer
The dryers allow an almost complete absence of moisture in rich hydrogen atmospheres, using molecular sieves in regenerating adsorption columns.
