A safe handling of caps and a fast format changeover with SMED solution. Our cap manipulator is a solution to pick caps from thermoformed trays and transfer them onto a conveyor. An operator brings trays of caps. Lines of caps are grabbed with care by suction cups. The tray conveyor goes a step further to be ready for the next cycle. Empty trays go to the conveyor end where they are vertically stacked and stored in the back of the machine. Design features • Aluminum profile frame, painted sheet low part and MAKROLON polycarbonate high part and doors • Belt conveyor for tray supply fitted with a gear motor • Pneumatic grabbing system for caps with PIAB suction cups and vacuum pump • SMED solution to adapt suction cups and grabbing system • Storage system fitted with pneumatic cylinder, guide sheet and counter in order to stack and store empty trays • Electrical cabinet fitted to the machine frame • OMRON display and PLC • Control panel with run, stop and reset buttons + E-stop push button • Electrical supply: 400 V tri, 50 Hz • Absorbed power: 2 kW • Pneumatic supply: 5 to 6 bars • 6 cycles per minute
