The Variax V series is a high-speed, precision cam-driven roll feed with a variable feed pitch. This series was developed with Sankyo's cam technology and is characterized by a heavy-duty design suitable for powerful press forming applications. The design concept of the V series was based on speed and accuracy. The primary goal was to be able to withstand speeds well over the maximum speed of the press.
Numerous revolutionary technologies emerged while developing the V series, such as a dual-roll drive system based on four cams including a roller gear cam mechanism; a sector roll; a mechanical absolute digital feed pitch counter; and the SMS (Sankyo Modified Sine) Curve which is particularly suitable for high-speed applications. The V series also includes features with patents registered in various countries of the world.
The V series features a wide range of standardized features, and is perfect for punching out motor cores or for high-volume stamping applications such as lead frames and connectors. The controls for the V series are isolated from the press controls and can be operated independently without interfering with the operation of the press. The SCT drive (Sankyo's exclusive input drive system with automatic tensioner) is a standard feature and can be incorporated into the retrofit specifications for mounting on old as well as new presses.
