Description

Sankyo's coupling-type (TC-type) torque limiter is an overload protection device designed for use as an intermediate transmitting element of rotation. The ball bearings for transmitting torque are seated in a groove parallel to the shaft line. This pre-loads the ball bearings radially and ensures sufficient rigidity in the rotating direction. In addition, the TC type torque limiter is designed to absorb minor misalignment, or parallelism errors, between two shafts. The pre-load effect moves the clearance error and angle of deviation error to ward the center of the shafts allowing for a certain amount of error. The TC coupling torque limiters are safety devices designed to work only with loads in the rotating direction generated between two shafts. It pre-loads the ball bearings to transmit rotation radially and ensures sufficient rigidity in the direction of rotation. In addition, the TC type torque limiter is designed to absorb some misalignment between the two elements being coupled. When a release feature and high-speed performance is added to the functions of the TC, you get our TR type that was developed primarily as a safety joint between servo motors and ball screws. With a positioning reset accuracy within?}60 seconds, the TR type protects machines against overload without degrading performance and helps to simplify assembly.
