The SANT-TECH PK-ASK2 blast cabinet is one of the medium size 'standard' indexing rotating table machines that SANT-TECH manufacture and it is equipped with 12 evenly spaced revolving work spindles, which index through the process areas presenting the workpieces accurately and for a precise amount of time in front of the blast guns and air wash (blast cabinet is divided into 3 sectors – blasting area, air wash area and loading/unloading area). Blasting takes place at 4 of the 12 spindles, which are positively driven by a toothed belt to ensure an even blast coverage during the rotation of the workpieces. Workpieces can be either manually, pick and place or robotically loaded and unloaded depending on volumes, handling complexity and subsequent operations. A suction or pressure fed media delivery system, media separator and dust extraction system make up a complete installation and these items are specified to match each specific application. A typical PK-ASK2 system may include 12 of blast guns complete with electrical solenoid switches allowing individual blast guns to be selected to suit the application. Blast guns mounted on adjustable mounting blocks so that the angle of blast and stand-off distance can be adjusted to give optimum coverage of the workpiece. The set can be freely expanded depending on the real needs of the customer, e.g. with an automatic roughness measuring station and saving measurements in a database.
