Both single and multiple head designs are available for small or large product, or product which is reshaped into squares or rectangles. Blade surface speed is adjustable over a 5:1 speed range to enable optimal cutting speeds for high-speed steel or carbide blades. Flying friction saws can be provided for a very fast cutting cycle where end conditions are not critical or secondary end finishing is required. An AC motor drives the saw blade at a maximum surface speed of 450 feet per second (137m/sec).
