An Italian manufacturer of plastic components for industry faced safety and ergonomic difficulties in the process of preparing pallets of polymer sacks to be transported from the warehouse to the production line. The sacks, weighing 25 kg, were picked up from various pallets, transported to production and then lifted and emptied into the hopper, risking injury and slowing down production. The operators took turns using the hand pallet truck to transport and lift the sacks, with obvious difficulty in maintaining constant productivity.
The solution proposed by Scaglia INDEVA® was the introduction of the Liftronic® Mobile manipulator, which transformed the entire work cycle. With this system, a single operator, even with physical limitations, can form the pallet, transport it from the warehouse to the production line, and lift and empty the bags without any physical effort. The suction cup gripping system allows the bags to be lifted safely and precisely, avoiding manual contact and maintaining a constant production flow.
