Data connector Railway connector UIC 558 VE

The connector complies with the requirements of UIC 558 VE (until 1994: UIC 568VE). It connects lines used for remote control of lights and doors or for public address systems in passenger coaches or multiple unit trains. In addition to that, the connectors of this series are also suitable for trans­mission of binary data, e.g. CAN bus. Schaltbau has developed a new replacement insert for the recept­acle of the UIC558 con­nector which is likely to re­duce main­tenance and downtime consider­ably. Features: - Replacement insert with socket contacts implemented on both sides - No need of rewiring the rail vehicle - No need of electrical testing the connector’s contacts and wires - Increased corrosion resistance to chemicals, in particular to detergents containing acids or alkalis - Flammability rating to UL94-V0 and EN 45545 - 13 pole plug intermateable with 18 pole receptacle in accordance with UIC 558 VE
