The Spinplus coupling is hard to beat when it comes to lightness. The reason for this lies in its unique functional element, which provides universal displacement compensation on one level while making this precision coupling look extremely compact. Its innovative aluminium clamping hubs are also optimised in terms of rotational inertia – another piece of the jigsaw puzzle for an extremely lightweight construction design.
A functional element enabling a short coupling system with extremely low rotational inertia
When developing the Spinplus coupling, the focus was on achieving the lowest possible rotational inertia for it.
This was obtained through its unique functional element, responsible for the operating and performance parameters of the coupling. This new functional element, made of a highly specialised steel, enables universal displacement compensation - i.e. compensation for radial, axial and angular shaft misalignments - in one plane. As a result of this ability, the backlash-free coupling is advantaged by an overly short design and high performance density, combined with extremely low rotational inertia.
Innovative clamping hub design optimises the concept
In addition, the newly-developed, innovative hub design further optimises the concept of this torsionally stiff coupling in terms of reduced rotational inertia. These aluminium clamping hubs contribute to further significantly reducing this parameter, as against conventional hubs.
