The following range of laser power measuring heads is based on thermoelectric principles, where heat generated from incident radiation is transformed directly into a voltage.
Thermopile laser power detectors - BB and HP Series
Laser power detector for measuring very low laser powers - LP 20
VUV laser power detectors for use with F2 lasers - HP 30 - VUV - KF 40
BB and HP Series
The BB series of heads has a black broadband absorbing coating. The HP series is equipped with a ceramic layer which allows for high energy and power densities.
The HP25S head is specially designed for portable applications through the use of a smaller heat sink. This gives the head smaller dimensions but means that high powers are only possible for a short time.
The heads need 15 to 20 seconds to reach a thermal equilibrium before a measurement can be made. To avoid this delay, we recommend the use of the LEM 2410 readout. This device monitors the rate of change of the voltage from the thermopile head and calculates the laser power from this data. Using the LEM 2410 reduces the time constant for the whole system down to 1 second.
