The main idea behind the designing of the RS2N Needle contact sensor is measuring of structure-bone ultrasounds in the industrial environments. It is the generic purpose sensor for monitoring the machines. It allows to take measurements pretty quickly and can be compared to something similar to a 'super-stethoscope', which is meant to monitor the machine's health, by keeping a track of what is happening inside the apparatus with the moving parts.
You can use the RS2N needle contact sensor to detect and localize the bearing effects, gear mesh problems, cavitations of pumps, steam trap failures, hydraulic leaks, valve and reciprocating compressor checks and for lubrication trending of the rotating equipment. Ultrasonic signals monitors the machine parts and bearings by acoustic vibration. It helps in acoustic bearing lubrication monitoring and test the hydraulic system. Defects on rotating machine produce a broad sound spectrum and they are usually monitored by vibration in low frequency. However some specifics defects produce acoustic waves with a rich content in high frequencies. Steam tap testing, valve testing and pump cavitation detection all by the means of ultrasonic signals.
Available in three lengths, the sensor helps you hear and collect data when monitoring bearings and equipment in your facility.
