The XMS is a modular off-load disconnect switch, packed in a closed insulated housing, that enables to build up to 3-pole independent or synchronized units. Used in railway locomotives and trains, the XMS is installed in multi-system vehicles to change the configuration of the traction circuits, and adapt them to the network voltage. Used in fixed installation, the XMS handles the switching and isolation of electric circuits of to 4000 Volts.
Key features of this bi-stable disconnect switch are its capability to remain closed on high current peaks, as well as its short switching time.
