Sécheron’s BSV and SLS keeps railway pneumatic operated pantographs safe for maintenance technicians working on or near high-voltage equipment. The BSV and SLS can be delivered with other Sécheron safety key interlocking devices and with other Sécheron solutions for the electrical safety of the traction chain on AC and/or DC railway vehicles.
Sécheron’s BSV and SLS safety device is installed in the pneumatic circuit supplying air to any pneumatically-driven device. Before maintenance work, the BSV or SLS is manually switched off, interrupting the air supply and releasing the air pressure in the circuit. In the safe or “off” position, removing the interlocking key prevents the BSV from being unsafely switched back on, and the pantograph to be raised, protecting maintenance workers.
The SLS is is used when the AC or DC circuit breaker is grounded through an electrically operated earthing device. The SLS enables to lock the pneumatic valve supplying the pantograph with air in its exhaust position preventing the pantograph to be raised during the maintenance operations. Once the pantograph is locked down, the operator is authorized to ground the circuit breaker through a push button located on the SLS and interlocked with the pneumatic valve position.
