The automatic cleaning for bar screens, SGM type, equipped with grab bucker, represents an advanced technical solution between the systems of automatic cleaning of bar screens installed in big channels, for water intake from sea, lakes, rivers and also large water treatment plants.
In particular, it is mainly composed of:
- a supporting frame in steel, composed of a set of pillars supporting a sliding monorail;
- a trolley, moving on the above mentioned monorail, equipped with four wheels mounted on bearings whose one motorized with gearbox. The electrical feeding of internal components of the trolley is assured by a festoon line with multipolar cable or, on demand, by an electrical cable reel.
- an electric hoist, installed inside the trolley, that by means of two strong steel ropes wrapped up in one drum, bears the grab bracket during its run upward and downward the channel. The hoist is equipped with a self-braking gearbox, adjustable position detectors and electromechanical overload protection devices;
- two double effect hydraulic ram pistons, made of stainless steel and high quality components, for bucket opening/closing. The pistons are fed by an hydraulic control unit mounted on board the trolley;
- a grab bucket for screening material collection. The bucket is composed of a fixed rake scraping type made of strong plates having the same wheelbase of bars, always in contact with screen bars, dragging the screening material on channel bottom during its run downward and of upper rotating pliers, directly fed by the two pistons, harpooning and holding during its run upward the screening material previously deposited on channel bottom.
