The RC type is commonly used for rectangular tanks and has the specific function of conveying the sludge gathered on the tank bottom to a lateral hopper and clean the water surface from any floating substances, conveying them to a lateral channel.
The chain scraper consists of a gear motor control unit, a drive shaft placed on the final end of the tank with two crown gears at their extremities, two driving chains, three or more idle shafts complete with toothed crowns, scraping blade, secured to the pulling chain, made of press-bended metal sheet and complete with adjustable rubber.
The gear motor motion is transmitted to the shaft which, by means of two lateral crowns, puts in motion the two gearing chains. On the opposite side there is the transmission unit which serves for the chain tightening; moreover specific guides keep the chain in the right position and avoid any deflection due to the own weight and the scrapers.
