Designed for testing plastics, rubber and elastomers, these extensometers have very long measuring ranges. Their unique design allows for burst testing and minimizes sample interaction.
The main body of this unique extensometer remains stationary during testing, held in place by a combined universal magnetic base. Only very light, small moving heads move as the specimen elongates during testing. They are attached to the specimen with small spring clips. Each head, as it moves, pulls the cord out of the extensometer.
These models use fairly accurate, low friction potentiometers.
