This versatile axial extensometer is used to measure modulus of elasticity, axial yield, and Young's modulus at break. It is compact and lightweight. The length of the measuring probe is set automatically for fast sample clamping. Suitable for sample widths or diameters from 0.25 to 25 mm.
The Model 3442AVG is optimized for high precision tensile and compression testing. It measures the strain simultaneously on opposite sides of the specimen to average the axial strain of the specimen. It is compact, lightweight and can be used to break the sample with most materials.
The extensometer automatically sets the probe length when placed on the specimen. This feature improves repeatability, reduces operator errors and saves time.
The output of this extensometer can be configured in two ways: with one output for measuring average strain, or with separate outputs for measuring strain separately on opposite sides of the specimen with two strain channels. The dual output configuration can be used during test setup or during testing to measure sample bending (strain uniformity) caused by misalignment or processing defects on the sample.
Model 3442AVG extensometers are strain gauge devices, making them compatible with any electronics designed for strain gauge transducers.
