Specification of Speed Seneor
The MEVS series gear tooth speed sensor is industrial-grade gear tooth speed senor, also named magnetic pick-up or passive speed sensor. As a ferrous object approaches the tip of the pole piece, the magnetic field increases and decreases as the object move away from the pole piece, the snap or the rapid change in the magnetic field induces, an AC voltage signal in the coil, with an ideal target and matching sensor, the induced voltage is in the shape of a sine wave.
The generated frequency signal is directly proportional to the number of ferrous objects passing the pole pieces per unit time, the amplitude of the voltage output is proportional to the speed of the ferrous objects passing the pole piece.
MEVS Series gear tooth speed Sensor provides a user-friendly solution, senses rotating ferrous gear tooth. The sensor output waveforms with various targets are difference, the commonly used gear terminology, diametric pitch equal no. Of tooth add 2, besides dia. of gear (inch).
The performance of a sensor can be easily defined, when using a gear for a target. We recommendation a standard gear target for evaluate the performance of a sensor, that may differs from most sensor manufacturers and test parameter, It is notice for estimated performance.
This sensor’s ability to provide tight duty cycle at high speeds and over a wide temperature range makes it for transmission and industrial speed application.
