GigaPrint is a large industrial 3D printer, among the largest in the world, based on FGF (Fused Granulate Fabrication) technology similar to FDM 3D printing with which it shares the principle of extrusion of the material. The difference lies in the shape of the plastic materials used for printing.
While FDM machines print using filaments, FGF 3D printers build parts using granular or pellet materials.
The extrusion screw rotates and pushes the granules into an extruder which makes them a homogeneous mass that the pressure pushes through a nozzle of the chosen size.
Plastic pellets are the material used to produce FDM filaments or for injection printing, therefore direct printing with pellets significantly reduces the cost of the material used and therefore of the objects produced.

PECULIARITIES
GigaPrint is a large format pellet printer , among the largest available on the market.
Its high-temperature extruder is equipped with interchangeable nozzles from 1 to 6 mm in diameter and can reach up to 450 °C.
It prints with plastic pellets 2–5 mm in diameter and is compatible with a wide range of thermoplastics, including high-temperature and engineering materials.
