These economical instruments are intended for long-term creep and stress-rupture testing of metals and alloys, in compliance with ASTM, BS, EN, ISO and other international standards.
It can cater to tests encompassing constant loads over extended time periods. The lever arm permits high accuracy testing without constantly running the mechanical drive. They are cheaper to purchase and run than conventional electro-mechanical or hydraulic testing machines.
Elevated temperature tests are also possible. High temperature pull rods, specimen holders, furnace systems and extensometers for creep and stress relaxation applications are available. Many of these can be used in hot tensile testing on UTMs. An extensometer for measuring elongation in creep tests is also available. The powered draw-head assembly automatically compensates for specimen elongation and maintains loading bar's accuracy within 0.5%. Optional furnace and chambers with common air environments can maintain temperatures between 200 to 1100°C.
High precision load, extension, and velocity control are integral closed control functions. Loads are accurately measured with resolution up to one three hundred thousandth. The stress-strain curve can be plotted automatically. In the event of power outages, manual operation allows the operator to unload the setup by hand.
Software features tools such as specimen registration, apparatus control, data logging, test result inquiring, processing and test report export. The tester can communicate via mobile phone to alert personnel of the test status, so that constant observation is unnecessary.
