The Shimadzu "Air-Servo" testing system uses pneumatic force as a driving source, unlike standard fatigue and endurance testing systems that exclusively use hydraulic power, making it ideal for small-scale testing operations in clean conditions, like laboratories. This highly compact unit offers features excellent waveform reproducibility and offers operation with 0 negative environmental impact. It operates by using air-driven servo valves to drive the actuator and does not contaminate the surrounding area. Additionally, due to low air pressure of less than 1 MPa, this system is excluded from high-pressure gas protective legislation and accompanying procedures. The use of pneumatic bearings allows high waveform repeatability in the low test force region, impossible or extremely difficult with standard hydraulic systems.
