The Maldi-Tof Mass Spectrometry is manufactured by Shimadzu Europa GmbH, and is an instrument which produces an MS/MS derived structural detail and results in reliable mass information. The instrument has two modes: a linear mode which permits the interrogation of high molecular weight samples and a reflectron mode which integrates the patented curved-field reflectron (CFR) to provide high resolution and mass accuracy. All sample output requirements are met through the instrument's high sensitivity system and also through a variety of target formats. Enhanced sensitivity is possible through near-axis laser irradiation and advanced ion optics which enhance ion transmission. A robust option is available for laboratories which need routine manual or automated analysis of a wide variety of sample classes. The improved curved field reflectron design of the instrument enhances the low mass fragment region, therefore providing useful additional information.
