Manufactured by Shimadzu Europa GmbH, the MDGC-2010 is a Deans Switch system which employs the multiple-heart-cutting technique. This ensures no retention time shift even after several cuts in the first dimension. A mechanism which heart-cuts insufficiently separated components to a second, different column is also built into the system. The MDGC control software package that comes with the product guarantees an efficient operation. An enhanced level of reproducibility and a quantitative accuracy is also possible through the multi-deans switching mechanism which was designed into the system. This is achieved through the use of capillary method with a low dead volume and the deactivation processing of the internal surface which results in the same peak form as that of the GC analysis' results.
