Drum mills
The operating conditions that are decisive for comminution are the grinding time, the bowl speed and the filling levels. Usual speeds range from 70% to 80% of critical speed. In exceptional cases, speeds from 60% to 90% of critical speed can be chosen.
For wet mills, replace sealing cover with sieve insert and stopcock, position drum with sieve at lowest point, then open tap to empty. Dry mills discharge crushed product through rotating drum opening with emptying grate. A dust bonnet collects discharged material, guiding it to a funnel-shaped outlet.
It is driven by a shaft-mounted geared motor. Dry mills have fixed dust bonnets, wet mills also, both with flaps for accessibility. Crushed material is collected at the outlet. All filling/emptying work is possible without any problems.
The grinding Drums can be positioned using inching or optional automatic control system.
