RUGGEDCOM media converters family offers reduced installation, configuration and management costs for brownfield installations by bridging the gap between different types of network segments, speeds and protocols. Use the RUGGEDCOM Selector to select and configure the right media converter for your requirements.
The RUGGEDCOM RMC series of Ethernet and serial media converters are compact devices designed to bridge the gap between the different types of network segments and speeds, extending the life of legacy equipment in harsh industrial environments.
Tiny but mighty, our RUGGEDCOM RMC media converters bridge the gap between different types of network segments, protocols and speeds. The RUGGEDCOM RMC family consists of these five products:
The RUGGEDCOM RMC40 is a 4-port unmanaged Ethernet switch that provides both copper-to-fiber media conversion as well as 10Mbps to 100Mbps speed conversion. Not only does the RMC40 come with an option to use in place of traditional copper-to-fiber media converters, it also has the added ability to convert speed from 10Mbps to 100Mbps. With dual fiber optics, daisy chaining of Ethernet enabled devices can easily be accomplished. For the most demanding of systems, a dual-redundant fiber optic connection can be created for a device that only offers a single 10/100TX port.
