The SIKA level switches are used for reliable monitoring of liquid levels. Used for:
• dry-run protection
• overflow protection
• leakage monitoring
The SIKA level switches are the simple and reliable solution for monitoring liquid levels. The installation is carried out laterally by means of a G¾ or G½ thread. The proven float principle and a potential-free contact as a signal transmitter offer a high level of functional reliability.
The increasing level in the tank rises the float. Via the paddle system, the magnet changes its position relative to the reed contact and actuates it. The repulsion between the permanent magnets of the same polarity supports the buoyancy. As soon as the fill level drops again, the float does as well and actuates the reed contact again.
The switching function set at the factory
• contact closes when the level rises
• contact opens when the level drops
can be changed by the customer.
The reed contact used as a signal transmitter consists of two ferromagnetic contact tongues located in a glass bulb filled with inert gas. This virtually eliminates wear due to contact fires. This design enables a service life of up to 100,000,000 switching cycles.
