Eurowater has designed Dealkalizer, the weekly acidic cation exchanger. Dealkalization minimizes the hardness and bicarbonate content of water. It reduces the proportion of salt in the water by about 75%. Dealkalizer is ideally used to produce boiler water, district heating water, and process water in brewery units. These plants have greatly reduced the need for blow down of the boiler as compared to using softened water exclusively as boiler feed water. Dealkalization method is perfect for bulky boilers. It is a cost-efficient operation. The bicarbonate proportion is important for brewing and can be adjusted by mixing dealkalized water and raw water.
Other technical aspects of the plant include flow rates ranging between 1 to 50 m³/h for standard models. The equipment is available both with a single tank or dual tank. Polypropylene coated steel is used for tanks. The assembly for producing boiler feed water generally consists of dealkalizer, CO2 deaerator, and softening plant.
