The calcium and magnesium salts in the water are exchanged for sodium salts through the process of softening. This does not cause the disadvantage of hard water, but the method is particularly useful when it comes to industries and institutions for treatment of water for steam boiler plants and for district heating plants, cooling towers, laundries, washing, dishwashing and others.
The broad program makes choosing the optimum plant possible, whether the water supply is continuous or discontinuous.
