The 106/206-DW Deep Well Pump Control Valve is an energy-saving double chamber valve installed between the pump discharge and the check valve. The normally open valve prevents unpredictable surges in pump start/stop, using an energized pilot solenoid to close the valve at a controlled speed.
On start-up, the valve discharges air, water and sand to waste, as the open valve releases all pump flow. As it closes, the main line starts receiving and increasing the flow without surges. When completely closed, all pump flow is transferred to the pipeline, eliminating loss in the control valve.
In shut-down, the pilot solenoid is de-commissioned to initialize opening. The pump constantly runs as the valve opens. The rising flow proportion is then shifted to waste, with less flow passing through the check valve. When all flow is carried by the nearly fully open DW valve, the pipeline check valve closes. When the DW is completely open, the pump is stopped by a stem-mounted cam.
