The 106-A-Type 4 and 206-A-Type 4 are one-way flow altitude control valves suitable for maintaining a preset maximum water level. It works as a control valve either in fully open or fully closed position. The Type 4 valve allows the tank a maximum level of normal forward flow, then closes drip-tight at the set-point. Once the level drops with fixed distance below high water level, the valve opens to refill the tank. The distribution from the tank is through a separate pipeline. The valve can prevent overflowing, but is not fit to stop back flow like a check valve. The device is easy to use at ground level. It features a high level shut-off maintained to close tolerances.
