Description

Safety Catchers are used where personal protection and accident prevention must be provided against failure of lifting members in an area where loads or tools are raised. Protection, for example, if a hydraulic or pneumatic pressure system fails, or if a rope, chain, belt, or toothed drive breaks. The SITEMA Safety Catcher will prevent the load from crashing down at any position of ascent; ratchless, mechanically safe and absolutely reliable. Because of its "self-intensifying clamp" operating principle, a safety level is achieved that is unsurpassed by any technological alternative. Load direction compressive (to mounting surface) O M is the admissible load the mass to be secured exerts on the Safety Catcher. The holding (braking) force for dry or hydraulic-oil wetted rods is not less than 2 x M but will not exceed 3.5 x M. O The necessary pressure to keep the clamping released is 4 bar. In case a spring base is installed. the required pressure for releasing without lifting ts 6 bar. see “Techmcal Data Sheet TI-A21 The admissible operating pressure is 10 bar. O Pneumatic operating volume O Proximity switch holders are provided for standard inductive prox-imity switches (M12x1. nominal switching distance 2 mm. flush mountable. NO (normally open): except KRP/T 25: M8 x 1 with a nominal switching distance of 1.5 mm). The dimension T1 mdicates how deep the proximity switch immerses in the Safety Catcher KRP/T measured from the holder’s top. For easier service, the proximity switch holders hâve a depth stop. If you order a suitable SITEMAflange to the Safety Catcher.
