The VOC-5000(Explorer) Portable Total Hydrocarbon Detector is equipped with dual detectors---flame ionization detector (FID) and photoionization detector (PID), which blend advantages of a FID detector which is responsive to almost all VOC gases and has good linearity within range, with that of a PID detector which has fast response speed and low detection limit.
