Description

The IMF PROTECTOR™ System by Smith & Loveless is designed to provide a cost-effective ultrafiltration solution and is particularly used for small municipalities. The system features a low-foul membrane that serves as an effective barrier to fine particles, including waterborne pathogens such as cryptosporidium and giardia offering up to greater than 4 log of removal efficiency. The system’s Directflow process is designed is designed to ensure greater filtration efficiency over traditional cross-flow processes used in other membrane systems as a greater percentage of the feed water is permeated through its hydrophilic membrane. The Directflow process uses a "dead-end" design to enhance the rate of finished water recovery. This eliminates the reject loop and forces all water through the membrane’s hollow fiber lumen thus forces the exit of the filtrate through a central permeate carrier. Elimination of the recirculation loop increases the system’s finished water recovery rate and decreases operating costs. The design eliminates the piping valve pumps.
