Rollforming is a process of continuously shaping metals from rolls mounted on profiling lines. During this process, the metal is gradually folded by each of the rollers until it reaches the final profile. A punching and/or bending operation is often carried out to finalize the part. Operations such as induction, laser or resistance welding can also be performed during the process to avoid subsequent re-work operations. Bending is a process which shapes profiles while preserving its initial section. The bending can be in 2D (which can be done after rollforming in the same process) or in 3D (more complex shape and done in a specific operation).
