The range has been expanded further with the addition of the digital displacement sensor – D6P/S which has all the excellent features of standard digital displacement sensors but is only 6 mm diameter. The 6 mm diameter gauging probes like all Solartron’s digital displacement sensors and displacement transducers can be combined using the Orbit Digital Measurement Network to quickly build a gauging system with sensors that operate and are calibrated straight from the box. Like a conventional LVDT the displacement probe tip is pushed out using an internal spring. The precision bearings inside the digital displacement senor ensure precise positioning of the contact senor tip. At the same time the unique bearing design provides repeatable measurements even when the displacement transducer is subjected to mechanical side loads.
